I spent many weeks and months plotting, planning, designing and building my permanent 10 meter beacon transmitter. I put the new unit on the air a month or so ago and due to poor band conditions, had gotten no reception reports.

I got a big surprise today over the lunch hour.  I received an email from a ham in Puerto Rico and he had copied my beacon! That's 2154 miles on 5 watts!
